Who is LDW®?

Learning Disabilities Worldwide, Inc. (LDW®) is a non-profit, volunteer organization including individuals with learning disabilities, their families, and professionals.

Our History
In 1965, Learning Disabilities Worldwide (LDW®) started as the Learning Disabilities Association of Massachusetts (LDAM). This organization was dedicated to supporting parents whose children struggled with learning difficulties.

We believed that parents, schools, and the medical profession needed to partner in a collaborative way in order for children to achieve academic success. Therefore we began to publish and produce materials designed to meet their specific needs.

These award winning publications and media productions, created by world-renowned experts, quickly became highly acclaimed internationally as valuable resources in the field of learning disabilities (LD).

Recognizing the need for an international organization that would create a forum where all nations could join forces on behalf of individuals with learning disabilities, in 2004, LDAM officially became Learning Disabilities Worldwide (LDW®).

LDW's® products have already helped over 1,000,000 families in the State of Massachusetts alone.

Our scientific journal, Learning Disabilities: A Contemporary Journal is sent to over 24,000 subscribers; and its sister publication, Insights on Learning Disabilities: From Prevailing Theories to Validated Practices, reaches over 4,000 members.

LDW® joins forces with colleges and universities to present its University Access, Doctoral Scholarly Review, and Masters/Doctoral Best Papers sections of our website to provide professors and graduate students with free access to current research as well as peer-reviewed opportunities to publish their work.

Today, LDW® has become a trusted and respected world leader in turning validated research into multi-lingual, multi-cultural, multi-media materials that provide best practices to support individuals with learning disabilities, their parents, and the professionals who work with them.

Learning Disabilities Worldwide is a global voice of hope and the gateway to a world of opportunities for people with learning disabilities. Together we are making a difference!

Mission Statement
Learning Disabilities Worldwide (LDW®) works to enhance the lives of individuals with learning disabilities, with a special emphasis on the underserved.
