    A local Voice of hope for Massachusetts

    Born in Massachusetts, LDW continues to support individuals with learning disabilities, parents, PACS, educators, and pediatricians throughout our state!
    Our voice is heard in Massachusetts in many languages by:

    Languages:
    Clicking on the Find Your Country Section of LDW’s home page and then on a specific country, information may be accessed in that language. This will help the diverse population in our state.

    PARENTS:

    • Keeping parents informed on local legislation regarding learning disabilities.
    • Continuing to work with local Parent Advisory Councils (Mass PACS) to provide them with LDW’s books, Videos, CD’s, and resources for free.
    • Acting as a central agency for the collection and distribution of information in the Bay State.

    PEDIATRICIANS:

    • Supplying every pediatrician in Massachusetts, updated information on current advances in Learning Disabilities bi-annually.
      • Distributing a CD produced by LDW for pediatricians, “The Pediatrician and the Child with Learning Disabilities” to dozens of pediatricians in the Bay State.
    • Updating pediatricians on current information regarding possible links between learning disabilities and the environment.

    EDUCATORS:

    • Succeeding in our mission to provide free copies of all of our books to every Special Education Director, Special Education Teacher, Principal, Guidance Counselor, and Curriculum Director in the Bay State.

    GOVERNMENT:

    • Working for the past 16 years LDW with the governors in Massachusetts to have October designated as Learning Disabilities Awareness Month.
    • Lobbying in conjunction with the Alliance for a Healthy Tomorrow for the mercury bill, which was signed into law by Governor Mitt Romney.

    LIBRARIANS:
    Supplying free copies of all books and videos we publish to every library in the Bay State.

    THE CHILDREN’S MUSEUM:

    • Partnering with the Children’s Museum in Boston to develop a promotional tool kit on learning disabilities for schools.
